UEC Guest Wireless

Basic Information

This service issues temporary accounts to use wireless LAN to the large number of guests who visit our university for academic conferences and other events.

For a small number of guests, we ask that faculty and staff members issue visitor eduroam accounts with their own authority. Guests who have already been issued an Eduroam account at their affiliated institution do not need a visitor account.

Caution

  • The number of simultaneous connections to one wireless LAN access point is limited. When people are concentrated in one place, it can be difficult to connect.

UEC Guest Wireless allows you to use the web (HTTP/HTTPs), email (IMAP4s/POP3s, SMTPs/Submission), SSH, and VPN (L2TP, IPsec).

How to apply (for event organizers)

Caution

  • For a small number of guests, please issue and use visitor eduroam accounts under the authority of each faculty member.

  • Applications cannot be made by proxy. Please apply directly to the event organizer.

  • Please apply at least one week before use. We may not be able to respond at the last minute.

  • Event organizers are limited to faculty and staff of our university. If you wish to use the facility for a student-led event, please appoint a faculty member as the person in charge of use and apply from the person responsible for use.

  • For confidentiality reasons, applications cannot be made from off-campus email addresses. Please be sure to apply from your on-campus email address (@edu.cc.uec.ac.jp or @uec.ac.jp).
