This is an on-campus wired LAN connection service for faculty, staff, and students that can be used with a UEC account. You can use it by connecting the device to a dedicated information outlet installed in the classroom and authenticating with your UEC account.
Starting the authentication service (Wired AutoConfig).
Press the start button and enter services.msc.
Standard Click the tab and double-click WiredAutoConfig.
Click Start.
Caution
If you set Startup type (E) to automatic in this window, the authentication service will be started when the OS starts.
Proceed to OK and close the window.
Close the service.
Authentication (802.1x) settings
Enter Network and Sharing Center in the search box (see above for how to display it).
Proceed to the displayed Network and Sharing Center.
Proceed to Changing adapter settings.
Right-click on the wired LAN adapter and select Properties (R).
Click on the Authentication tab.
Make the following settings.
f-1. Check Enable IEEE 802.1X authentication (N).
f-2. Select Microsoft: Protected EPA (PEAP) in Select network authentication method (M): and click Select.
f-3. In the window that appears, uncheck Verify certificate and verify server ID (V).
f-4. Select the authentication method (S): is set to Secure password (EAP-MSCHAP v2), and :guilabel:`configuration (C) Click `.
f-5. Under Authentication method for connection:, uncheck Automatically use Windows logon name and password (and domain if there is one) (A), OK to close the window.
f-6. Proceed to OK and close the Protected EAP Properties window.
Click Additional settings (D)….
g-1. Check Specify authentication mode (P) and select User authentication.
g-2. Click Replace credentials (C).
g-3. Enter the UECaccountusername and password in the username and password fields.
Note
Input here is not required. If not entered, an authentication window will be displayed after each username is logged in.
g-4. Proceed to OK and close the Ethernet properties window.

When the screen appears, enter your UEC account username and password and proceed to OK.
Note
It is omitted if it is set in authentication settings (g-3).
After connecting to the network, wait for a while and an authentication screen will be displayed. Enter your UEC account username and password and close the screen to complete the setup.
Hint
It may take several minutes for the screen to appear.
