Information for Network Administrators¶
Windows and Office (Windows versions) installed on devices connected to the campus network can be activated without entering a product key by referring to the license server (KMS host) operated by the Information Technology Center.
When installing network equipment, servers, etc., please make sure that the underlying equipment can reach the following servers and ports.

How to enter the product key (MAK license key)¶
After installing the product, activate the license by entering the product key (MAK license key) for each product individually. The product key is disclosed only to the university-wide volume license administrator.If you wish to continue using the product on a device that will not be connected to the campus network for a long period of time (approximately 90 days or more), please use this method for license authentication.

Office¶
Start any Office product and open the ファイル (File) menu.
Click プロダクトキーの変更 (Change product key) on the アカウント (Account) or ヘルプ (Help) screen and enter the product key.
Windows 10 , Windows 11¶
Right-click the スタートボタン (Start button) and click システム (System).
Click プロダクトキーの変更 (Change product key) on the displayed バージョン情報 (version information) screen and enter the product key.
How to check license certification status¶
Office¶
Start any Office product and open the ファイル (File) menu.
If you open アカウント (Account) or ヘルプ (Help), the license activation status will be displayed.
Widows 10 , Windows 11¶
Right-click the スタートボタン (Start button).
Click システム (System).
The license activation status will be displayed on バージョン情報 (version information) screen.
How to register as a university-wide volume license administrator¶
In order to view the product key (MAK license key) on the MAK license key & media download page , please register as a university-wide volume license administrator in advance by following the steps below. Only faculty members of our university, excluding part-time instructors can apply.
Please apply in person at the Information Technology Center Business Office (East Building 3, 4th floor) using 全学共通ボリュームライセンス管理登録申請書 (the university-wide common volume license management registration application form) in the 情報基盤センター申請書一覧 (ITC application list).
Important
If applying by proxy, please also submit 委任状 (the power of attorney) listed in the 情報基盤センター申請書一覧 (ITC application list). If you are applying on your behalf, please also present your identification card at the time of submission.
After registration is complete, an email will be sent to the registrant’s UEC account (
<UEC account name>@edu.cc.uec.ac.jp
), so please check.Please confirm that you can log in to the MAK License Key & Media Download Page with the registrant’s UEC account.
Hint
Products installed on devices connected to the campus network, including VPN, are automatically authenticated by the license server (KMS host). In order to reduce management effort, we recommend that only devices that will not be connected to the campus network for a long period of time (approximately 90 days or more) be licensed using a MAK license key (product key).
Continuing use of Windows license after graduation/completion¶
Based on the university’s Microsoft comprehensive license agreement, students at our university can continue to use the Windows licenses they used during their studies even after graduation.
Continued use is limited to Windows installed using Students: How to Use Windows on Your Personal PC. Please be sure to save the product key used during installation. Product keys cannot be reissued.
You can continue to use the version of Windows installed on your personal PC at the time of graduation. There are no upgrade rights.
Warning
If you lose your eligibility for enrollment due to dropping out of school, etc., you will not be able to obtain the right to use the program after graduation/completion. Please uninstall (delete) any products installed on your personally owned PC immediately after leaving the university.

The Information Technology Center is often unable to verify or answer technical issues related to Microsoft products installed individually in laboratories, etc., so please contact the Microsoft community below. Depending on the content of your inquiry, you may be directed to paid support.
