Follow the steps below to set it up.

VPN Connection Settings

1. First, configure the connection settings.

Click the Apple button ( ) and click System Settings… from the menu.

2. Click Network from System Preferences. Select Add VPN configuration → L2TP over IPsec… from … at the bottom right.

3. Enter the following information in the window that appears and select Options in the left column.

Display name	Any name (UEC in the example)
Server address	vpn.cc.uec.ac.jp
Account name	UEC account name
Password	UEC account’s password
Shared Secret	Pre-shared key of VPN pre-shared key distribution page

4. Turn on Send all traffic through VPN connection and click Create. Next, proceed to VPN connection check.

VPN Connection Check

1. Configure connection settings.

Click the Apple button ( ) and click System Settings… from the menu.

2. Select Network from System Preferences and click VPN displayed on the right side.

3. Click on the VPN connection name created with VPN Connection Settings to select it and turn on the toggle button. As shown in the figure, if Connected is displayed, the VPN connection is successful.

   Please check the operation by starting your browser and viewing a web page that can only be accessed from the campus network. After checking, press the Disconnect button to disconnect.

Hint

From now on, when connecting to a VPN, click the VPN icon ( ) at the top right of the desktop and click the name of the VPN connection you want to connect to, as shown in the image.

If the VPN icon is not visible, select Control Center from the Apple button ( ) > System Settings… and set VPN at the bottom to Show in menu bar.
