What is the UEC Cloud Account?

This is the shared account for using Cloud Services contracted by this university. The Google account is a different account to the UEC account and is used on Google Workspace.

The ID format is <UEC account>@gl.cc.uec.ac.jp. For details, see UEC Cloud account Basic information.

How and where is the UEC Cloud account issued and distributed?

The UEC Cloud account is automatically issued simultaneously to the issue of the UEC account.

Information such as the default password etc. for the UEC Cloud account shall be sent to the UEC account email address ( @edu.cc.uec.ac.jp ).For details, see Issue and Activation of UEC Cloud Account.

I would like to change my password for my UEC Cloud account, how do I do that?

I forgot my password for my UEC Cloud account. What should I do?

On the login screen, go to Forgot your password?

Does the UEC Cloud Account have an expiry date?

Yes, the UEC Cloud account has an expiry date. It is the same expiry period as the UEC account. For details, see Basic information.

Can the UEC Cloud account be used after graduation, course completion or retirement?

It cannot be used after graduation, completion, or retirement. The valid term is the same as the UEC account. For details, see Basic information.

Are procedures required for the issue of the UEC Cloud account?

If you already have a UEC account

No procedures are required.

The UEC Cloud account is automatically issued at the same time as the UEC account. Refer to Issue and Activation of UEC Cloud Account for how to use it.

If you do not have a UEC account

You need to carry out UEC account issue procedures. Please request the General Affairs Representative 総務企画課総務係 (soumusoumu-k@office.uec.ac.jp) to issue the ID card for this university. Following this, accept it in accordance with Receiving your UEC account.

The UEC Cloud account is automatically issued at the same time as the UEC account. Refer to Issue and Activation of UEC Cloud Account for how to use it.

Suddenly, I cannot log in to my UEC Cloud account. What should I do?

If your UEC Cloud account is suddenly unavailable, you may have one of the following problems. Please check each of them.

Also, depending on your PC and browser environment, you may experience problems using your UEC cloud account. To isolate the problem, please set your browser to privacy mode and try to log in with your UEC cloud account at https://myaccount.google.com/. If you are able to log in, please review your settings as it is most likely a problem with your PC or browser and not with the UEC Cloud account itself.

“The login settings do not meet the 2-factor authentication process policy determined by your organization” is displayed, and I am unable to log in. What should I do?

The account expiration date or password for the UEC account has expired.

The status of your UEC cloud account is linked to your UEC account. Please make sure that you can login to https://www.cc.uec.ac.jp/portal/ to check if your UEC account is available.

The UEC account will become unavailable once the UEC account itself expires or the password expires. In conjunction with this, the UEC cloud account will also become unavailable. If you cannot use your UEC account, please contact the Business Office of the Information Technology Center (East Bldg. 3, 4th floor) to check the status of your UEC account. Or, please contact support@cc.uec.ac.jp with your UEC account ID. If you wish to reset your password remotely, you will need your personal private email address registered with the university in advance. If you have not registered, it may take a few days for confirmation.

I tried to log in to my UEC Cloud account, but the message “Deleted account” is displayed. What should I do?

Both personal and university Google accounts in the same browser

If you use the same browser for both your personal and university Google accounts, you may not be able to log in properly or you may be asked to log in repeatedly. In this case, please use the multiple profile management function of your browser to separate your personal and university profiles.

“The login settings do not meet the 2-factor authentication process policy determined by your organization” is displayed, and I am unable to log in. What should I do?

Contact “support@cc.uec.ac.jpfrom your UEC email (@edu.cc.uec.ac.jp, @uec.ac.jp) or email address you registered in advance with the university, and receive issue of a 2-factor authentication backup code.

  1. Receive an 2FA backup code from the IEC in your UEC Cloud account

  2. Perform 2FA with the backup code, and access Google account - Security.

  3. Configure/reconfigure 2FA in accordance with UEC Cloud account 2FA configuration

  4. Contact us as soon as possible after reconfiguration

It is essential to configure 2FA to use the UEC Cloud account, and if 2FA is not correctly set up at the time of UEC Cloud account activation or 2FA cannot be used for some reason, this type of error may be displayed.

I don’t know how to use the backup code I received from the Information Technology Center.

I tried to log in to my UEC Cloud account, but the message “Deleted account” is displayed. What should I do?

This type of message is displayed if your UEC Cloud account is deleted when your usage period expires etc. The usage period for the UEC Cloud account is the same as for UECアカウント. Deleted UEC Cloud accounts cannot be recovered.

If you have graduated undergraduate level and have entered graduate school, use the UEC Cloud account newly issue by the graduate school. This also applies if a different UEC account is reissued due to relocation etc., so please use the UEC Cloud account linked to the newly issued UEC account.

In case this message is displayed despite the fact that you have remained in the company or university, and have not move on to the next phase of university or relocated, contact support@cc.uec.ac.jp urgently. In for them to confirm your identity in a smooth manner, please send the email from your UEC email email address. It may take extra time to confirm your identity if your inquiry is by external email or telephone.

I am not in charge of any classes (I am an office worker). Is it necessary for me to configure a UEC Cloud account?

Yes. This is required.

The UEC Cloud account will be used for video conferencing etc. that is limited to within the campus, so please activate this regardless of whether you are in charge of any classes or not.

Is the UEC Cloud account issued to part-time teachers?

Yes. It is.

A UEC Cloud account is issued to all users of UEC accounts regardless of whether they are full-time/part-time.

Configuration of 2FA requires a smartphone or telephone number. However, I do not have a telephone that I can always carry with me. What should I do?

Please set up 2FA via voice message on a fixed telephone (home, workplace etc.) once. Then obtain a Acquiring a backup code for 2FA, and carry this around by a safe method.

When performing 2FA in a place other than where the fixed telephone is located, please use the backup code.

Can I link the UEC Cloud account to an external service and use it as ID for a login etc?

This is possible as long as you do not deviate from UEC Cloud account Usage objectives.

However, you should pay attention to the following:

  • It is prohibited to use this for private services that deviate from account usage objectives.

  • As your account will be deleted after graduation, course completion,you will be unable to log in to the service. You may be unable to access your data . Please note that deleted accounts cannot be recovered .

Can you issue a UEC cloud account that can be shared and used by departments?

In many cases, Google and other services do not allow sharing of accounts, so it is not possible to create a shared account.
