UEC Disk¶
Caution
UEC Disk will be shut down in the following schedule. Before the complete shutdown, please make sure to back up the data by yourself. After the complete shutdown, all data will be deleted and cannot be recovered.
From now on, please use Google Drive at UEC Disk2 (for faculty only) or UEC Google Workspace.

Basic Information¶
UEC Disk is a cloud-based file synchronization service using ownCloud. It can be used up to 20GB and has the following features.
Use of client software for automatic directory synchronization between multiple PCs
Distribute files with ticket links to all people, including those without UEC accounts
Use of client software¶
Go to https://owncloud.org/download/#owncloud-desktop-client (off-campus), and download and install the ownCloud desktop client for your OS. Download and install the ownCloud desktop client for your OS.
Launch the ownCloud desktop client.
On the following screen, enter https://uecdisk.cc.uec.ac.jp in the Server Address field, and then click Next.
Enter “UEC Account” in “User Name” and “UEC Account Password” in “Password”, then click “Next”.
Set the folder to synchronize. The contents of the folder specified here will be synchronized automatically. If you do not want to specify a specific folder, click the “Connect” button without changing the settings.
This completes the configuration. When you copy a file to the synchronization folder, the file will be automatically uploaded to the server. If you set up other PCs in the same way, the files will be automatically synchronized between all the PCs and the server.
Share files and folders with other UEC account users¶
You can share the synchronized files and folders with other UEC account users.
Log in to UEC Disk .
Hover the mouse cursor over the file or folder you want to publish, and click the “Share” button on the left side of the line.
Enter the UEC account you want to share in the “Share with user or group …” field. Enter the UEC account of the person you want to share with.
When the file is shared, “Sharing” will be displayed on the right side of the line.
A “Shared” folder will be automatically created on the UEC Disk of the user whose files and folders are shared, and files and folders shared by other users will be displayed in the “Shared” folder.
Note
You cannot share a folder with a user who has never logged in to UEC Disk before. Please ask the user you are sharing with to log in to UEC Disk once.
Use as WebDAV online storage¶
UEC Disk can be used as WebDAV online storage. WebDAV online storage can be used as a network drive from ‘Explorer’ (Windows) or ‘Finder’ (macOS) .
“Explorer” (Windows)¶
Right-click on “Computer” and select “Assign Network Drive”.
Enter https://uecdisk.cc.uec.ac.jp/remote.php/webdav/ in the “Folder:” field and click the “Finish” button.
You will be asked to enter your “User Name” and “Password”. If the authentication is successful, you can use the UEC Disk as a network drive.
“Finder” (macOS)¶
Open the Finder and click “Go” from the menu, then “Connect to Server”.
Enter https://uecdisk.cc.uec.ac.jp/remote.php/webdav/ in the “Server Address:” field and click the “Connect” button.
You will be asked to enter your “Name:” and “Password:” as a “registered user”. If the authentication is successful, you can use the UEC Disk as a drive.
